From the vineyard to the table
Established in 1948, the Cantina La-Vis, located in the town of Lavis, in the north of Trento, can trace its ancient origins back to 1850, when the Cembran family built the first core of today’s production structure.
LaVis stands in an area boasting a century-old vine-growing tradition, dating back to the times when the Rhetians, a proud and enterprising people, started producing their quality wine.
The name of the town "Lavis" derives from the Avisio stream which is one of the most significant features of this area. The strength of the Avisio is summarised in the Latin word "vis", which means strength.
The Cantina La-Vis e Valle di Cembra came into being in 2003, a new wine enterprise arising from the merger of two companies, which through their history, tradition and experience have contributed incisively towards the development of their territories of origin.
The Cantina La-Vis e Valle di Cembra is the expression of a collective wine production, gathering as many as 1,300 wine farmers who take special care of a hilly land devoted to vine growing, up to an altitude of 800 m. a.s.l.

Wine terminology
Balance
Balance is the harmonious synthesis of the wine alcohol content, acidity, tannins and sugars: the essential components of a wine's flavor profile. When no single component is dominant and each component complements the others, a wine is considered well-balanced. Each type of wine has a different benchmark for quality balance.
